Orangespy’s mission is to infiltrate the crevices of the everyday world, uncovering secrets hidden beneath the surface. She possesses a unique “perceptive craft,” decoding mundane objects into entities brimming with life. Forgotten leaves, quiet manhole covers, even tilted mirrors—all could become her targets of investigation. Orangespy moves fluidly between reality and fiction, tracing subtle clues within the details and documenting the whispered stories of objects in her “recon archive,” unveiling a fantastical world often overlooked. As a covert agent, her actions are subtle yet precise, like an invisible eye observing the intricate, undiscovered order of this world.

Orangespy Recon Archive is a text-based project centered on exploring subjectivity and objectivity. It reimagines the characteristics and phenomena of everyday objects by observing them from an objective perspective infused with subjective thought. Here, observation transcends mere documentation, as objects are imbued with perception, thought, and life, creating a unique space of imagination. Each piece of writing takes the perspective of an object, narrating its observations, understanding, and connections to the world. Though fictional, these observations are rich in imagination and philosophical depth, blurring the boundaries between humans and objects and reconstructing our understanding of the things around us. Everyday elements like grass, buildings, and tools become narrators in this series, revealing their hidden “lives” and “stories.” 

The project proposes: “To observe the characteristics and phenomena of objects from an objective perspective imbued with subjective thought—where the perspectives and phenomena observed are entirely fictional.”



桔子特务的任务是潜伏于日常世界的缝隙中,搜寻那些隐藏在表象背后的秘密。她拥有一种独特的“感知术”,能够将人类习以为常的物体解读成富有生命的存在——那些被遗忘的枯叶、平静的井盖、甚至是倾斜的镜子,都可能成为她侦查的目标。她游走在现实与虚构之间,追踪细节中的蛛丝马迹,将物件的隐秘心声收录在她的“侦查档案”中,带回一个被人忽略的奇幻世界。作为一名特务,她的行动低调却精准,像一只看不见的眼睛,始终注视着这个世界深处未被发现的微妙秩序。

《桔子特务侦查档案》 是一项以探讨主体性与客体性为核心的文字记录项目,旨在从客体的视角,以主体性的思想,重新审视日常事物的特征与现象。在这里,观察不再是单纯的记录,而是赋予“物”以感知、思考和生命,打造出一个独特的想象空间。每一篇文字作品都从一个物体的视角出发,讲述它对世界的观察、理解与联系。这些观察虽为虚构,却充满了想象力与哲学深意,试图模糊人类与物体之间的界限,重构我们对身边事物的认知。日常中的草木、建筑、器物,都可能成为这一系列的叙述主体,展现出它们隐藏的“生命”和“故事”。

13 The Lost Chair 迷失的椅子

An office chair with wheels was rolling down the road. It seemed lost, unable to find its direction, as it could spin 360 degrees and had too many choices. Before it could make up its mind, a sudden gust of wind swept it over, leaving it toppled in the season’s first snow.

Sometimes, we can be deceived by our ears. When I entered an island platform in the subway, I thought the train on the right was leaving, but it turned out to be the one on the left. Was it the sound on the island platform delibe
rately tricking me, or was it my ears playing tricks?

有时候人会被自己的耳朵欺骗,我在进入地铁岛式站台的时候,我听到的以为是右边的车走了,结果是左边的车走了,是岛式站台的声音故意骗你的,还是耳朵骗你。

The fictional dolls created by humans might actually represent real creatures. Did they come into existence the moment humans made them, or had they always been there? Perhaps humans merely stumbled upon a glimmer of light in the darkness, saw them, and gave them a tangible form.

人类做的虚构玩偶,其实确实有这样的生物,是人类做成的那一刻就有了还是一直就有,人类碰巧从黑暗处摸索了一点光亮,看到了它,把它具象出来。

In the morning, I saw a microwave sitting all alone on a park bench as I left home. Later, at the coffee shop, I noticed how the British use a sandwich press to flatten croissants into pancakes. Could it be that their microwaves have run away, now resting on park benches?

早上出门的时候看到微波炉孤零零地坐在公园的椅子上,到了coffee shop。英国人直接用三明治机来把可颂压成饼,是不是他们的微波炉出走了坐在公园的椅子上休息

07 The angle of mirror 镜子的角度

A downward-tilted mirror allows people to see themselves more objectively, while an upward-tilted mirror creates a subjective perspective. If one consciously identifies the reflection in the upward-tilted mirror as themselves, it suggests a subjective desire to perceive themselves as slimmer and more beautiful.

镜子向下倾斜可以让人更客观地看到自己,镜子向上倾斜可以让人觉得自己在一个主观的角度,如果意识里认为向上倾斜的镜子里的自己是自己,那就是主观上觉得自己应该更瘦更美

In autumn, I often see all kinds of dead leaves indoors. They must have followed human shoes to get inside. What are they plotting? When something that belongs to its original place ends up somewhere it doesn’t belong, what thoughts does it have? What intentions might it harbor?

The essence of the park in front of my home is a zebra—a gigantic zebra. The lawn is just a small patch of its bare skin, and on sunny days, you can see its stripes under the shade of the trees. I wonder how many zebras are hidden on this planet.

我家门前的公园的本质是一匹斑马,一匹巨大的斑马,这个草坪是它裸露的一小块皮肤,阳光明媚的时候会在树荫下看到它的纹理。不知道地球上藏着多少匹斑马。
